Annual Meeting 2022

The SoftComp/EUSMI Annual Meeting represents the forum for all SoftComp participants to discuss scientific work performed and the realization of next joint goals.

The SoftComp/EUSMI Annual Meeting 2022 will take place in Salerno, Italy, and it consists of three full days from May 17 through 19, 2022. I am glad to announce that it will be a live meeting.

The tentative programme of the SoftComp/EUSMI Annual Meeting 2022 is not yet available.

The meeting includes the following sessions:

• Six plenary speakers (all confirmed their presence):
  • Prof. Marjolein Dijkstra (Utrecth University) “Machine learning and inverse design of soft materials“
  • Prof. Francesco Greco (University of Naples Federico II) “Diffusion and Soft Glasses“
  • Prof. Thomas Heimburg (University of Copenhagen) “Thermodynamics of excitatory membranes, and possible medical implications“
  • Prof. Julia Yeomans (Oxford University) “Modelling the dynamics of confluent cell layers“
  • Prof. Valeria Garbin (TU Delft) “Structuring colloidal systems by ultrasound-activated deformable inclusions“
  • Prof. Walter Kob (University of Montpellier) “On Simulations of Gels and Nanocomposites“
• Two topical sessions
  • Soft interfaces
  • Active Matter and microhydrodynamics
• Oral sessions that cover all Softcomp research themes. Oral presentations will be reserved only to researchers showing recently published or unpublished results.
• Student-organised sessions
• Discussion sections with the plenary speakers
• Poster Sessions
• Networking opportunities

The Annual Meeting will be held at the Grand Hotel Salerno – https://www.grandhotelsalerno.com

The SoftComp central budget will cover the full meeting costs, the subsistence/accommodation costs from May 16 through May 19, or May 20 if your travel schedule will require, and travel costs (up to a max of 250 euro per person) up to four persons per group. Use of private car to reach Salerno shall be authorized in advance. Please note that the nearest airport is Naples. Transportation from the Naples airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the Naples airport will be organized for all the participants, provided that travel details are duly reported in the registration form by May 10, 2022.

For the persons exceeding the number of 4 per group, the accommodation and subsistence costs are reported here below:

The costs are full board, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and two coffee breaks per day.

Please register for your participation through the SoftComp registration page. The SoftComp Management will charge the 4 persons with most expensive costs to the SoftComp central budget, all others will pay their stay directly at the hotel on the check-out.

Please note that the accommodation until 16 May and after 20 May are not full board, but Bed&Breakfast, with the following prices: Single room 88€; Double room 132€, + 3€ per night per person city Tax. Between May 16 and May 20 the costs are full board as reported above.

Call for contributions

You are kindly invited to submit the title and the abstract of your scientific contribution(s) through the abstract submission page, provided by the EUSMI portal (https://eusmi-h2020.eu/meetings/6231e57e49fb9/r)

All contributions will be practically accepted, with the possibility that in case there will not enough time to accommodate all the requested oral contributions, they will become poster presentations.

EUSMI users are also allowed to attend the SoftComp/EUSMI Meeting. EUSMI users shall first sign up in the SoftComp portal at https://eu-softcomp.net/user-area and only after the account has been approved, they can register for the Annual Meeting 2002.
