Our general objective is to understand the role of biological membranes and of their organization in cellular functions such as intracellular trafficking, endo/exocytosis, transmembrane transport of ions ("active membranes") or protein diffusion. For this, we develop multidisciplinary approaches, largely based on synthetic biology and on the development and study of biomimetic systems, as well as quantitative mechanical and microscopy methods. In addition, we study the mechanisms for the generation of cell protrusions.
