Molecular modeling, simulation, and machine learning for solving complex polymer and soft materials problems
Arthi Jayaraman, IBM Consulting, France
Abstract: In this talk I will highlight how molecular modeling, molecular simulations, and machine learning can accelerate the design, synthesis, and characterization of polymeric materials and complex formulations. I will present several examples in which physics- and chemistry-based approaches, combined with data-driven modeling, establish quantitative structure–property relationships and guide the development of high-performance polymer materials. By integrating the computational efficiency of machine learning methods with molecular-level chemical insight, these approaches enable accelerated materials discovery, inverse design, optimization, and deployment across a broad range of challenges relevant to real world applications.
